How to sell stuff successfully on Ebay?
I’ve listed 4-5 items (books & handicraft) on ebay for more than 30 days – none of the stuff has sold yet and I ended up paying listing price everytime I listed. I listed items in auction mode. In fact I see 0 views to all items i have listed. pretty disappointed:-(
Are there best practices or tricks that can I help me in being able to Sell My Stuff sucessfully at ebay?
If you are getting 0 views, there is a definite problem. You might be posting in the wrong section, are using poor descriptions, bad photos, asking too much (or too little). Most items get at least SOME interest, if only a few.
Sign in to ebay. Now, do a search for a keyword that should bring up your item(s). Does your item appear? If yes, now do a search for ‘Completed Listings’ (on the LEFT side, about 3/4 down) for that same item. See who is selling them, for how much, and whether they have actually SOLD them. Look at the listings that have SOLD and see what keywords they are using, where they are listing, what prices they are charging. Use that information to fix your own listings.
Sign up for Auctiva services for free (http://www.auctiva.com) and let it synch with your Ebay Account. Auctiva will put a scrolling viewer at the bottom of your listings to show ALL your listings to anybody that looks at ONE of them. This may draw more people in to view your items.
If you have a ‘bottom-line’ price you are willing to accept for your items, include a “Buy It Now” button for that price. Some folks don’t want to risk bidding; they prefer to pay a flat price.
Make sure your shipping amounts are reasonable and that you have included a return policy. Post both in your actual listing, as well as the fact that you accept PayPal. I assume you do; if not, sign up with PayPal and accept it as payment. Most folks prefer to use PayPal for payments, as it adds an extra layer of protection for both buyers and sellers.
